How To Install gLabels 3.2.1 On Ubuntu 14.10, Ubuntu 14.04 And Derivative Systems

Hello Linux Geeksters. As you may know, gLabels is an open-source software developed by Gnome, for creating labels or business cards. Among others, it has support for the most popular label formats, the users can import labels from CSV files or vCards and print labels in a given position of the sheet.

The latest version available is gLabels 3.2.1 which comes with better support for GNOME 3 and GTK+3, comes with some bug-fixes and improved text entry. Full list of changes:

In this article I will show you how to install gLabels 3.2.1 on Ubuntu 14.10 Utopic Unicorn, Ubuntu 14.04 Trusty Tahr, Linux Mint 17.1 Rebecca, Linux Mint 17 Qiana, Pinguy OS 14.04, Elementary OS 0.3 Freya, Deepin 2014, Peppermint Five, LXLE 14.04, Linux Lite 2.0 and other Ubuntu derivative systems.

Because it is available via the GetDeb repository, installing gLabels 3.2.1 on Ubuntu 14.10, Ubuntu 14.04 and derivative systems is easy. All you have to do is add the repository and the key to your system, update the local repository index and install the glabels package. Follow the instructions for your system exactly, in order to get a successful installation.

How to install gLabels 3.2.1 on Ubuntu 14.10 and derivative systems:

$ sudo sh -c 'echo "deb http://archive.getdeb.net/ubuntu utopic-getdeb apps" >> /etc/apt/sources.list'
$ wget -q -O- http://archive.getdeb.net/getdeb-archive.key | sudo apt-key add -
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install glabels

How to install gLabels 3.2.1 on Ubuntu 14.04 and derivative systems:

$ sudo sh -c 'echo "deb http://archive.getdeb.net/ubuntu trusty-getdeb apps" >> /etc/apt/sources.list'
$ wget -q -O- http://archive.getdeb.net/getdeb-archive.key | sudo apt-key add -
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install glabels

Optional, to remove glabels from either Ubuntu 14.10, Ubuntu 14.04 or a derivative system, do:

$ sudo apt-get remove glabels
